Dalen Shoemaker
Clinical Mental Health Intern
Think of me as your therapist with an older-sister vibe: someone who will cheer you on, sit with you through the hard stuff, and remind you of your strength when you have a hard time seeing it yourself. My hope is to create a space where you can be fully yourself, feel safe being honest, and know you don't have to navigate life's challenges alone.
I am a Clinical Mental Health Intern at Liberty University, working under the supervision of a licensed clinician. My background in Criminal Justice sparked my interest in human behavior, trauma, and the ways our experiences shape who we are. As a military spouse, I also understand the challenges that can come with life transitions, stress, and finding your footing in uncertain seasons.
My approach is collaborative and trauma-informed, drawing from EMDR, parts work, somatic experiencing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I strive to create a space where you feel safe enough to explore your story, understand your patterns, and reconnect with your strengths.
I believe healing doesn't mean becoming someone new; it's about understanding yourself more deeply and learning to show up for yourself in new ways. We'll make room for the hard things, celebrate the little wins, and take it one step at a time.
