Sara Standring, LPC

You are the guide, and I am honored to walk the path with each of my clients as their experience and expertise in themselves come forward in the therapy process. I would describe myself as having a down-to-earth personality while using (as appropriate) humor in remaining genuine and authentic. Your path through therapy should be genuine and I want your authenticity in the space always.

As the world shifted and changed there was a sincere recognition for counseling professionals. After transitioning careers from the culinary industry to counselor; my pride and passion for nourishing through food continues by nourishing the body through mental health.

My training is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), while also utilizing other modalities of therapy to fit the needs of my client. Additionally, I am Gottman Level 2 trained for utilization in couples counseling and Exposure and Response Prevention trained for obsessive compulsive disorder.

Maintaining a collaborative approach allows me to work alongside you to uncover your intuitive knowledge for processing and managing challenging emotions and life transitions. It is my continued privilege to work with and meet the needs of each individual client.

Some of my areas of experience include anxiety, depressive disorders, self-harming, substance related struggles, borderline personality disorder, trauma, OCD, and marital or couple’s distresses. My interests include sex therapy with ongoing training and certifications in that area.
