Dalen Shoemaker
Clinical Mental Health Intern
I am a practicum counseling student from Liberty University working under the supervision of a licensed clinician. I am honored to walk alongside you during some of the most vulnerable and meaningful moments of your life. I believe counseling is not about fixing people, but about creating space for understanding, growth, and hope.
My background is in Criminal Justice, which sparked my interest in human behavior, trauma, and the way systems and experiences shape our stories. As a military spouse, I also bring an awareness of life transitions, stress and resilience, which informs my ability to show up with flexibility and compassion.
My counseling approach is grounded in person centered therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I see counseling as a space to slow down, notice patterns, explore meaning, and gently challenge beliefs that may no longer be serving you.
Healing is different for everyone, and growth often begins with small, courageous steps. My hope is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and empowered to explore your story, and rediscover your strengths. I believe that even in difficult seasons, meaningful change is possible, and you don’t have to navigate it alone.
